The day of the artistes, actors, entertainers at LASRRA’s outing with BRF

Her name is Yinka Fashola, the boss behind the successful on-going LASRRA registration. For over twenty years, she was in Britain contributing her own quota to the British economy.

However, the woman, who is very intelligent, earned the recognition of her junior brother, Governor Fashola and he put her there because she is capable.

Since the inception of LASRRA, Ms Yinka Fashola has been wonderfully performing the registration exercise. She is always up and doing and making sure that everything goes well. Every time you meet her, she is always radiating joy and happiness. She is also very confident.

With her impeccable English, she is no doubt a woman of substance. Only recently, an idea came to her head that artistes, actors and actresses, comedians deserve to be given a special day for registration, known at the back of her mind that many people would be eager to meet them and this would ultimately increase the success of the programme.

Because people would swarm around them, what did she do? She enveloped more than one hundred artistes into the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa strictly for registration purposes with other important personalities and state officials.

It was a big and interesting outing as artistes, actors, actresses and comedians interacted and hugged themselves while throwing banters here and there.

There is n doubt that this is another plus for Ms Yinka Fashola and we are very sure that she has not disappointed her brother who put her there.

Isiwu, the forgotten community in Ikorodu division in search of Oba, roads, water, schools, electricity, markets, police station; wants BRF’s intervention

The residents of Isiwu, a rural community in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area, have made a passionate appeal to both the local council and state government to come to their aid and provide infrastructural facilities to the community, among other teething problems begging for attention.

This appeal is coming on the heels of continuous neglect and infrastructural decadence caused by the non-performance of successive local and state government. The community, which has over 30,000 inhabitants, is where the Ikorodu North LCDA secretariat is located.

Reflections on Mrs Ranti Odutola, the unique permanent secretary in Alausa

For thirty seven (37) years, this reporter has been covering, uninterruptedly, the seat of Lagos state government at Alausa as a practical journalist. In major climes of the world, this will make me (with all modesty) an authority on government affairs.

What this means is that since 1977,  I have been coming across and interviewing governors, military administrators, commissioners, permanent secretaries and other top functionaries.

Whenever I pick my pen to write about any of these officials, it must be as a result of careful observation over time and not necessarily out of favour done or intended to be done to me or to my organization

In the body of permanent secretaries, I have many friends, whether ex permanent secretaries or serving ones. While some of them are truly down to earth, willing to serve and help their fellow citizens, others are out-rightly rude, arrogant, proud and sadistic. The latter group do not remember there is a tomorrow they cannot predict. They forget they will one day retire and join the larger society, where the land of inter-dependence applies fully.

How Chief Imam Olowooribi facilitated free health programme from America for the poor

For the second year running, Sheikh (Alhaji) Seifudeen Olowo-Oribi, the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu division, through his foundation, Seifudeen Olowo-Oribi Islamic Foundation (SOIF), demonstrated  his compassion for the wellbeing of Ikorodu people with the hosting of the second edition of a day free health care programme tagged, “Your Health is Wealth.”

The event, which took place at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Olubi Street, Ikorodu, was organized in conjunction with the Clinton Primary and Urgent Care Center, Maryland, United State of America (USA).

It was indeed a unique event, which recorded a massive attendance of people in and outside Ikorodu, who had started trooping into the venue with their family members as early as 6:30a.m.

Odofin Shotobi uncommon passion for sports, hosts female team after winning glorious women soccer golden cup

Except for those who are very close to him, Chief Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Odofin Erujeje of Ikorodu ordinarily does not look like a man who has flair for sports.

The soft spoken sport philanthropist, who is one of the most powerful and well revered traditional chiefs in Ikorodu, unknown to many, was a very good footballer during his secondary school days at the Zummuratul Islamiyyah Grammar School, Lagos, where he played alongside Haruna Ilerika, a former Nigerian International player and won several laurels.

Although, Shotobi, unlike Ilerika, could not play football as a career, he, however, recently demonstrated his undying passion for the game with the acquisition of a female football team known as Ayeloja football club.

Through the team, which is now known as Kadesh Queens football Club, Shotobi has indeed achieved what he could not as an active footballer, considering the sterling successes attained by the team within its short time of establishment.
